Tony Underwood
Omaha, Nebraska · Founder of Cambium Data
I’m Tony Underwood, an Omaha IT leader and founder of Cambium Data. I started my IT career in the U.S. Navy in 1991 and founded Cambium Data in June 2009. Today, I own and lead the company and stay involved in the technology work we do for businesses in the Omaha and Lincoln areas.
About
A little about me
I grew up in Sioux City, Iowa, and joined the U.S. Navy after high school. I served as a Fire Controlman (FC2). In 1991, I started working on the Navy’s military computer systems. That’s where I learned networking and began my IT career.
After the Navy, I moved from desktop support into network engineering and leadership roles at companies including MCI/Worldcom, West Corporation and DTN. I earned my CCIE in March 2001. Today, I’m CCIE #7112 Emeritus.
I founded Cambium Data in Omaha in June 2009. Our first customer was in Lincoln, so we’ve worked in both cities since we opened. I still own the company and lead it as president and CEO.
